Hummingbird Cottage Garden

This front-yard cottage garden was stitched together with salvaged stone—flag, cobble, and boulder—each piece hand-set with the imperfections left in. The low, winding walls are purposefully loose and lively, built in the spirit of the old “drunk farmer stack,” giving the space a sense of age and approachability. Out back, a tucked-away water feature gurgles quietly beneath Mugo pine and native grasses. The planting is rich in pollinator support, with a dedicated hummingbird garden threaded through the entry path—designed to feel like something always growing, always halfway home.
